Issues with MSN ...

"Okay, I have checked all the ...."

*Poops* There goes my MSN connection, the chat window screen is disabled, and I was like "Damn .. couldn't you just let me finish my sentence and send it out ..."

So okay, hit the Retry button, and wait ...

Did some facebook-ing, and hmmm, the icon is still showing the red cross "X".

Hit the Retry again, no surprise, MSN did that once a while

After 3 minutes, okay no good, guess it wasn't the usual intermittent connection drop issue. So here comes the Troubleshooting guide screen (which is useless 99% of the time, the only useful stuff is the error code if it fails to repair your issue, and I need that error code)

Did some coding, some chit chat, came back and the troubleshooting progress stopped at "Key Ports". How can I reject such offer, repair for me then.

After a while ... Boo Hoo ~~ It failed to repair the key ports issue, and cries to me with an ugly error code: 81000306

Google for it, bunch of people talking about routers and firewalls and proxy and ya da ya da ... Nope I know none of this related to mine, so continue on until I hit the jackpot. So here's the fix:

0. Quit your MSN, make sure msnmsgr.exe is not running in Task Manager
1. Launch your "Run" command -> Start Menu: Run
2. Type -> regsvr32 softpub.dll Wintrust.dll Initpki.dll Rsaenh.dll Mssip32.dll Cryptdlg.dll
3. Press [Enter], and wait for 6 pop-up windows that tells you the dll file is registered successfully
4. Start MSN and try again
5. Of course it works for me thus I shared this holy grail here, but if it does not work for you, go googled up for other approaches :P
